Milan has always been considered the capital of both Italian fashion and business; however, it also offers the opportunity to visit some of the most famous museums and monuments in Italy and in the world. Although Milan is a small city compared to others, it is very important to make the most of your time while here. For this reason, the suggestions of our concierge might be most helpful. MILAN IN A DAY: You could begin at Santa Maria delle Grazie with its famous painting of Leonardo da Vinci’s, Last Supper. Please do not forget to book in advance for this visit as tickets are required! From there, go to the National Museum of Science and Technology to discover the amazing works of Leonardo da Vinci. After lunch, visit the medieval church of Sant’Ambrogio, where San Gervasio and San Protasio were buried. Next, stop at Sforzesco Castle with its huge Sempione Park. If you still have time and energy, you can end your day with a visit to La Triennale of Milan. MILAN IN 2 DAYS: During the morning of your second day you could visit the Pinacoteca of Brera with its artist district. Afterwards, go to La Scala Square to admire one of the most famous theatres in the world, La Scala, and its museum. Continue on to the glass-domed gallery of Vittorio Emanuele with its frescoes. From here you can see Piazza del Duomo and its superb church with its impressive interior that dominates the square. If you have time, you can climb up to the top of church (either by lift or the stairs) and admire the breathtaking view of the city. At the end, pass onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele to visit the Fashion Quad, and be enchanted by its famous shops with their incredible windows. MILAN IN 3 DAYS: It would be a pity to leave Milan without exploring the Navigli area. Starting from Piazza del Duomo, turn onto Via Torino. You will end up in Corso di Porta Ticinese where you can admire the famous columns of the Church of San Lorenzo. Here, during the weekend, the Milanese youth typically gather for a drink. From there, continue along Corso di Porta Ticinese until you reach 24 May Square. This is the starting point from which to explore Alzaia Naviglio Grande or Naviglio Pavese, with their typical bars and tiny Milanese restaurants. On Saturday morning you can enjoy the flea and food markets of Papiniano. BIKE AROUND MILAN During spring and summer, it is nice to cycle around the city or in surroundings areas. RENTING A SCOOTER If you are feeling brave and adventurous, why not rent a vespa or scooter and explore our area during pleasant weather? CASTLES & VILLAS In Lombardy, you can visit and experience one of the most beautiful Castles & Villas. Kindly ask Concierge Desk for some suggestions and also to organize a group or private tour. CRUISING OF MILAN CANALS You thought only Venice had canals? Here you can cruise the Canal Naviglio Grande and see all beauty of its parks, villas and abbeys. Rides are available from Friday to Sunday. For further information, kindly ask Concierge Desk or visit their website. OUTDOORPOOL AND WATER PARK During Summer time, many outdoor pools re-open. Please be aware that mostly of them ask to wear a swim hat. Please contact Concierge Desk for addresses of nearest locations. However, if a normal outside pool is not enough to you, from 7th June to 7th September in Milan there is the Gardaland Water Park, as always the Concierge Desk will assist you with all necessary information. Private transfer to Fox Town or McArthur Serravalle costs € 495 by a Mercedes sedan, and € 560 by Mini-Van for 8 hours which can be billed directly onto your guest account. Fox Town can also be reached by train by stopping at Chiasso or Mendrisio, and then taking bus number 13 or 14 (costs CHF 5.60 from Mendriso and CHF 13.20 from Chiasso). An alternative is a Bus which leaves everyday at 2.00pm from Foro Buonaparte, 76 Zani Viaggi and returns from Fox Town at 7.00pm to Milan. It operates 7 days a week and costs €15.00 per person.
McArthur Serravalle can be reached by train, stopping at Arquata Scrivia, and from there, public transport will take you to the mall. Otherwise there is a Bus which leaves everyday at 10.00am from Foro Buonaparte, 76 Zani Viaggi and returns from Serravalle at 4.00pm to Milan. It operates 7 days a week and costs €20.00 per person. Despite being a business and fashion city, Milan also offers activities to be enjoyed with your children for a day. The Toys Museum, located on Via Pitteri, 56, and the Acquarium of Viale Gadio, 2, is one of the oldest in Italy and has reopened after a recent refurbishment. The National Museum of Science and Technology showcases Leonardo da Vinci’s amazing works, and you can enjoy the stars of the Planetarium located in the gardens of Porta Venezia Park. The Sforzesco Castle offers an amazing collection of armor, swords and shields and I his inside is located Sforzinda a space dedicated to children. The Civic Museum of Natural History, also located amongst the gardens of Porta Venezia Park, will take you back through time with the natural history of humankind. The Museums of Milan and Contemporary History will allow you to discover the history of Milan whileThe Museum of Art and Science will let you discover another side of Leonardo as a citizen of Milan and as a painter and has many other rooms displaying antiques. You shouldn’t miss the house of our famous writer, Alessandro Manzoni in Via Morone, 1, or the gardens of Porta Venezia and Sempione Park, with their labyrinths, statues and fountains. These are the most preferred places for Milanese children to spend their play time.
